I love to do parties, cook, craft and spend time worshipping Jesus. I sing, play piano and write songs.
When it comes to parties, cooking, and events, I rarely do it small, I say go big or go home. I love the feeling when people walk into the environment I have created and watch their faces light up by the impact of what is around them. Once, I talked my husband, Jamie into letting me put hay all across my living room floor for my daughter, Kelsi’s 5th birthday party.
MY HUBBY
I am madly in love with the most amazing man, He can’t think small and never settles for mediocre. He is an encourager of people and loves to see others succeed – including me! He’s outstanding at doing life and together, we run several businesses. More importantly – he is a worshipper that draws on the Father’s heart. He plays guitar, piano and sings. He is my bestie – in the whole world.
We have been crazy happy married for over 20 years. It’s taken hard work and effort, we are truly more in love now then we were when we got married. He makes me laugh a lot and keeps me balanced.
OUR KIDS
We are parents to our beautiful songbird of a daughter, Kelsi. She lights up any room with her singing and has an adventurous spirit to change the world. I know she will too – she already does!
Then there is my handsome son, Jaden who all the girls seem to adore. He is a thinker and a processor. His fingers are so good on the guitar and he can play just about anything he hears. We all get a bit envious of his skill at times. Did I mention He plays the drums too!
We are a family of musicians, coffee drinkers (not just any old coffee) – we love to find the unique coffee shops and an adventure is what makes us come alive.
We are competitive, especially on family game nights.
ME
The “LISH” in JAMIELISH – I love to cook, especially trying healthy new recipes, and every once in a while I just go for the good old fashioned fat-filled absolutely delicious recipes too. I love to travel and experience new places, I love my reading/rocking chair in the corner of my bedroom. It’s my safe place where I get close to Jesus and learn to be vulnerable with myself (and working on with others too). Life is not always easy but I am not a quitter.
I have struggled with my self-esteem and value, been on a weight loss journey with the goal of living a much healthier life where I am learning to value me.
I love music and I love teaching kids how to sing and play the piano, even if at times my patience is tested. The joy of watching them blossom far outweighs all the “stuff”. Kids say the funniest things too, I feel entertained most days by these cute dialogues, and they tell you just about anything so I learn a lot about their families too 🙂
I have struggled with fear a lot in my life. I have to work hard to not let my mind go down the “What if’s” so I have an arsenal of scriptures I have written out. Scriptures help me win, but somedays I forget to use them.
I am a girl who likes structure and change stretches me beyond belief, but I am learning life is about change and learning to take it as it comes. How we choose to think has a big impact on how we experience life.
I am no different than you or any other woman who struggles with who we are and how we live our lives. I am not willing to stay where I am, I am constantly asking God to change me and shape me across many areas in my life.
MY BLOGS
My desire is that as you read these blogs you can see that there is hope for your situation, or realize that you are not the only one with struggles. We need to encourage one another, champion each other in Christ and cheer each other on to the finish line. The enemy tries to isolate and make us feel like we are the only one that struggles or feels like we are not worthy. It’s time to rise and be who you were created to be! Winning one moment at a time!
